We’re building something happy.

The Crab Island Catch is the only paper on the Gulf Coast that’s happy, fun, and entertaining. Stories that’ll make you laugh, stories that’ll make you cry — stories that’ll make your whole week.

In the vibe of the Saturday Evening Post, with a Gulf Coast heart. Issue 1 is coming.

What we’re building

A real magazine you can hold — full color, built around the coast: its people, its water, its characters. Human-interest stories, pet remembrances, milestone celebrations, local humor, and a comics section for brand-new cartoonists who’ve never gotten their shot.

Welcome aboard

We’re building a brand-new newspaper with a Gulf Coast heart. The Catch is built by the coast, for the coast, and every tab above is a way for you to be part of it.

Write for us or send a story tip. Draw our comics or paint our covers. Honor a pet, a 90th birthday, a wedding. Advertise your business — or step up and lead the whole paper as our founding Editor-in-Chief.

Write for us

Think you’ve got the chops? Prove it. Everyone writes the same Bella sample — the tagged great white off Panama City Beach, “where is she now?” — so we can compare apples to apples. Then send a story of your own finding, with all your research materials and your own photos. Our reporters shoot their own pictures.

All reporter submissions become the property of the paper.

Send a story tip

Heard something the coast should know about? Tell us where to look.

Calling all cartoonists

We’re not running the strips that have been around for decades. We’re looking for brand-new comics from artists who would never otherwise get a chance in print. Send us your ideas and examples — help us fill the funniest pages on the Gulf Coast.

Design our first cover

Artists — this is your shot. Send a portfolio or a sketch; the Issue 1 cover artist gets picked from these submissions.

Founding advertisers

Businesses — lock in a founding ad before they’re gone. Raise your hand and we’ll talk.

Lead the paper

One chair: the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Crab Island Catch. You know newspapers inside and out, you grab the bull by the horns, and you lead with positive energy. Retired veterans to the front.

The fine print: this is the common ground of those who save lives. One last ride, one last effort — a disabled volunteer fireman stands holding on to his dream of the Crab Island Catch and Crab Island Radio.
